Roses

I’ll always remember my first few roses, when I decided to grow ‘Perfume Delight’, with it’s large, fragrant pink blossoms. Through the years my rose garden has gotten substantial, and each bush carries a piece of history with it- I am reminded of the circumstances during that particular time in my life. For instance, the time our mini-lop bunny named Joey had passed away, and a dear friend gave me a ‘Just Joey’ rosebush in his honor. Or the ‘Sunset Celebration’ rose that commemorates my daughter’s college graduation, and the ‘Intrigue’ rose that represented a treasured romance.

Years ago, as a new gardener, I had a bit of trepidation about growing roses; I’d heard people say they are fussy, or high maintenance. I’ve discovered that’s just not true anymore- new, hybridized roses have changed all of that. The roses at King’s bloom repeatedly throughout the whole season, and most are more disease resistant than you might think. It’s not hard to have the rose garden of your dreams, with a little sunshine, and guidance from our knowledgeable staff.
